Is Hawaii Over Rated?

Besides the bugs in Central America, there’s a big difference between the beaches of Belize, Mexico and Costa Rica versus the Islands of Hawaii. For the last couple years I’ve been working really hard to figure this out. (by traveling and checking out other places that compare) Sure Thailand, Tahiti and Fiji are great but it takes forever to get there and the plane tickets going to run you at least $600.  Since 2002 the price to fly to Maui has usually been right around a steady three hundred twenty five big ones. Not bad compared to the $650 we had to pay for tickets to Belize and Costa Rica. Over the last couple months the sand fleas, mosquitos and bed bugs got the best of me and my buddy while traveling through Central America. For some reason they seem to like me more than him or my lady. Maybe I taste better? I don’t know. What I do know is that’s it’s good to be an American and even better to be an Oregonian. We are lucky. We can live in Makena oceanfront paradise . We can make our families happy. We can make more money by working harder. We can buy Wailea Condos for Sale. We can fly all over the world. If you live on the west coast of the states its about a 5 hour flight to Hawaii. If you can buy your tickets in advance you can save a lot by getting Hawaii tickets for about $325.00 US - note that you have to avoid flying on weekends to get that price. Before you secure your airline tickets, {Hawaiian Airlines is the best} its smart to look for Maui Condos or Maui Hotel deals through Google or portals like Hotwire first. Don’t make the mistake of buying your tickets to Hawaii before you find out the place you wanted to stay is all booked up.

Yes, it’s worth it to go to Hawaii. Start with Maui, then move out to either Oahu or Kauai. You might have noticed Maui is my favorite. There is a saying there “No Ka Oi” that means “there is nothing better” in Hawaiian. Maui is an island formed by 2 volcanos. Now days, there’s a huge valley between the extinct volcanos and mountains. The island is approximately 48 miles wide and 26 miles from north to south island. If you wanted to, you could drive around the whole island in one day. Perhaps what is best for me though is the security I feel on the islands. Granted I do love the surfing, island style and spirit of Aloha, but being able to sleep at night while feeling secure is priceless. Even though Cancun Mexico is pretty safe, there are still parts of the town you wouldn’t want to go in with your kids. Think about it, with safety in mind: if you were walking down a dark sketchy street would you rather be walking down a sketchy street in Hawaii, Costa Rica, Mexico or anywhere in Central America?
