Lake Tahoe Skiing & Snowboarding
Living in Oregon has many advantages that other States just don’t have. One of my favorite things about this state is being able to drive out of Portland, and in about 2 hours you can either go surfing on the Oregon coast or snowboarding at Mt. Hood. In this day and age, you can even check out the conditions on a web cam before you head there. Now that we are enjoying the last of Fall its time to get ready for winter. For me, that means putting my wetsuit and surfboard away for the winter and pulling out my snowboarding gear for the up and coming sessions we are about to have on the hill. Unfortunately, all the snow that has accumulated Mt. Hood Meadows for the past several weeks just melted away in about 2 days. Check the photo below, this is the face of yellow:

… This same pitch last week was all white with a fair amount of snow. So now what? It could be December 10th before the mountain opens. Honestly, I don’t think I can wait that long. Time to pack up the gear because I think it’s time for some Lake Tahoe Skiing. Lucky for me, (and the rest of the West Coast) there is a ton of snow already at Heavenly. We’ve got some vouchers to stay at one the best Lake Tahoe Casinos: Harrahs! We love it there and getting there is pretty easy for us. We fly into Reno, rent a car and then drive into Lake Tahoe. Today is November 17th and check out all the snow that’s already at Heavenly…

Now thats what I’m talking about… while we’re there we might even have to do a little Lake Tahoe Hiking. Breath in the air, soak up the surroundings and Get some!
