Google PR – Way Over Rated.

Google PR Meter Don’t let the green bar fool you… Page rank isn’t everything. A good link builder, webmaster or seo consultant will recognize nice content in conjunction with search engine safe web design from a mile away. Or in this case maybe 4 to 6 months away until the next PR update happens. Emails from people that don’t understand this concept pour into my Gmail box every couple hours. It’s amazing how many people are actively out there trading links right now.
Most of the websites I get link exchange proposals from lack content and are going to be screwed when Google changes to the new Algorithm. You know, the one that focuses more on a websites content and less on the incoming links?

Everyday I receive emails from webmasters or seo people wanting to trade links. I manage or own about 50 websites in a plethora of different industries… I have to make a comment about this because I think its just so damn funny when link exchangers refuse to trade links with pages that have PR0. Maybe because they get paid more for higher PR websites ? My thoughts on this are, if the homepage and the rest of the website has some sort of page rank, good architecture and nice content – then it’s worthy for trading. I don’t care if the page has page rank zero or pr10. What’s more important to me is actually getting a link from a site that has relevant content to what mine is about.

I imagine some people are never going to understand this concept. Maybe thats good beacuse it keeps me in business. I’ve given up trying to explain this to search engine marketing people asking me to trade links with them. They want links from my pages that have PR5, 3 or better but I’ve tried to explain ” i just built this directory ” surely you can see that the rest of the site is peppered with PR5′s and more. Can’t you tell that these pages are going to be receiving the almighty PR soon enough ?
Ah, Forget it….
My PR is bigger than yours!
